Preaching to Yourself Every Day

“We need to preach the gospel to ourselves every day, reminding ourselves that we are far more sinful than we ever thought possible, but the gospel is more amazing than we could ever imagine.” – Jerry BridgesI have been reflecting on this quote for some time now. It really speaks to me. If I am honest, I have to admit that I AM far more sinful than I estimate. I hate doing a spiritual inventory of myself and really looking deep into my heart and mind. It's not fun. To be honest, sometimes I…See More

"I have often said that in the church our theology is sometimes "we are saved by grace by we keep it by works." We need to rediscover grace. It is powerful. It is all about God. My works are less than nothing when it comes to impressing…"

Ongoing Grace

One of the things I believe we miss the longer we are a part of the church is the need we ALL have to continue being nourished by the grace of Jesus. We think of being "saved by grace" and we should because the grace of God we receive is the basis and the means for our salvation. However, that is not the end role for grace in our life. We need to also remember that we are ALL called to:1. Continue in grace - Paul and Barnabas . . . "urged them to continue in the grace of God." - Acts 13:432.…See More

Hi Jim,
Please let me encourage you to make your discussion posts regarding the Transformation Teams and Strategic Values here on MyCHOG instead of on the discussion forum on chog.org. We have found this to be a much more user-friendly platform and hope more people will respond/participate. We will shut down the forums page on chog.org on Nov 15th and divert everyone to MyCHOG.

Blessings my friend and keep posting your thoughts.
David
