Besides music, what do you find helps people worship in your services?

My congregation is interested in in finding a sister congregtion who might be willing to loan us 20 copies, along with the accompaniment track, of the Christmas musical, "Christmas Shoes".  We would need to obtain this by September and keep through December.  We will pay for shipping and take good care of the items.  The privilege of borrowing musicals sure helps the budget.  We would be glad to share copies of some of the musicals that we have in our library, along with the tracks if you are interested.  Thanks.

How Great is Our God
Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)
Mighty to Save

These songs speak to the heart of who God is and the love that He has for us. How Great is Our God is a song I imagine us singing for all of eternity. If the church is not singing about how great our God is, how will they know?

Contemporary--"How Great Is Our God", "Blessed Be the Name", and "Revelation Song"
Substantive--Since God's truth is substantive, no matter how many verses a song has, no matter how simple the message is, my 3 include "Friend of God", "Amazing Grace (Chains Are Gone)", and "Here I Am to Worship"

Additionally, we have some guys in our church who write original worship songs. One we use quite often is called "We Worship You". You can download it at http://www.digstation.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?albumid=ALB000033186.

Their band is called BROKEN. You can find them on Myspace and Facebook.

Good Morning,

I was drawn to your conversation about the three worship contemporary songs that have impact. First, I'm not a minister of music. I am a music leader in the community. the songs:
Amazing Love (Billy Foote);
Open The Eyes Of My Heart (Paul Baloche); and
I Give You My Heart.

There are so many, but these are three that usually at least two of them are in our list for praise and worship. And we have the most requests for these also.

Indeed, Jason, the standards here seem to be far too lax! But, the bright side would be that with you and I as members of the group, there's no other way but UP from here. So, come one, come all, let's get this party started! : )

Personally the three songs I believe are the best contemporary songs played today are:
-Healer by Hillsong United
-Jesus Paid It All by Kristian Stanfill
-Your Love Never Fails by Chris Quilala

Of course, there are a ton of songs I could have mentioned, but the songs I have seen move in peoples lives, mine included, are these three songs.

In your opinion, what are the three (3) best contemporary worship songs for the congregation to learn and sing?

Additionally, what are the three best contemporary songs with substantive theology being sung today?

Hey, I figured if you let Greg McCaw in, I had a shot :-)
