Every Christian is called to be able to give a "reason for the hope that is within us". Far too often we fall back on the subjective; I was in crisis and God was my way out. We don't have to deal with what thoughts others have because it is based on OUR experience, and who can challenge that?

Everyone, not just pastors or teachers, should be able to articulate the fundamentals of the faith once delivered unto the saints. If you understand historic Christianity, you know that it rises and falls based on the historicity of the resurrection of Christ. Yet, that central fact is often only preached once a year, at Easter (which is why I prefer to call it Resurrection Sunday) rather than being proclaimed regularly.

We must all realize that the world is continuing to attempt to press us into its mold. Yet, the only way for us to stand firm is to stand on that foundation which is not made with hands, the Solid Rock.
